Product Description

Maternity Massage What is it?

Pregnancy is an exciting and new time in any woman’s life. Although it is a joyful experience it can also be a challenging and stressful time. The mother’s body is changing quickly to meet the needs of the growing child. It is also a time when she starts to think more about her health and getting fit and well. This is where we at Body and Mind Studio® can come into action!

It is essential that your therapist is knowledgeable in all of the incredible changes in the anatomy and physiology that occurs throughout the 9 months of your pregnancy. Body and Mind Studio®’s Maternity Massage specialist, Beccy Hopfensperger, as well as being a mother of two, hold’s a Maternity Massage Practitioner Diploma and is ready to assist you on your incredible journey!

  • Pre-natal Massage - focuses on some of the unique physical needs of the mother-to-be and is so much more than just a luxury.
  • During Pregnancy - massage is a wonderful solution to some of the temporary challenges of pregnancy. It provides relaxation by relieving stress on joints, easing pain, and helping with the postural changes associated with the progressing pregnancy. Massage therapy is also believed to stimulate the endocrine system, which helps to stabilise hormone levels and relieves nervous tension.
  • Post-natal Massage - focuses on helping to restore the mother’s body to its pre-pregnancy condition. Massage therapy plays an important part in restoring the abdominal muscles and the uterus to its normal healthy state and stability. It relieves muscle tension and stress from everyday activities, especially new mother’s emotional state. The loving touch of hands can provide a time to relax and reflect for the new mother, and may help with postpartum depression.
