Methylcobalamin is also the specific form of vitamin B12 needed for nervous system health. Then Dr. D'Adamo added folate, the active form of vitamin B9, to the formula. Many vitamin B12 supplements use the cheaper synthetic form of vitamin B9 known as 'folic acid'. Folate, on the other hand, is the nature-identical and fully active form of vitamin B9 which is found in foods and is used in Methyl 12 Plus®.
