An Imaginative Botanical Base
Dr. D'Adamo began by basing the formula on the legendary herb known as Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha). Hawthorn has been used since the Middle Ages to promote the health of the circulatory system. To the Hawthorn base he added two traditional world medicines: The Ayurvedic herb Arjuna bark, a traditional circulatory tonic herb used for centuries in the Himalayas and Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen or Red Sage Root) a renowned herb in Traditional Chinese Medicine that contains several unique phytochemicals with antioxidant properties.
Genoma Cardia™ is a unique blend of herbs, botanicals, amino acids and nutraceuticals including:
- Hawthorn berry (Crataegus spp.) extract: The berries and flowers of Hawthorn were historically used as cardiac tonics in many historical cultures. Extracts from Hawthorn have been found to enhance oxygen flow to and utilisation by the heart. Because of the high content of flavonoid compounds, extracts of Hawthorn have significant antioxidant activity.
- L-Taurine: Taurine is the amino acid found in its highest concentration in the 'free amino acid pool' in heart tissue; apparently it is used extensively in maintaining healthy heart muscle.
- Coenzyme Q10 : Coenzyme Q10 is an antioxidant that your body produces naturally. Coenzyme Q10 levels tend to be lower in people dealing with cardiovascular challenges, as it is thought that Coenzyme Q10 helps enhance the 'bioenergetics' of cardiac tissue. Levels of Coenzyme Q10 in your body decrease as you age
- Terminalia arjuna Bark : Terminalia arjuna is a medicinal plant used as a cardiotonic in Ayurvedic Medicine. Scientific evidence indicates that it has strong antioxidant properties.
- Salvia miltiorrhiza Root : Salvia and its preparations are currently used in China to treat patients who need cardiovascular support. It has been shown to exert a protective effect on cardiac muscle.

Ingredients
Zinc (from zinc citrate), Hawthorne Berry Standardised Extract (Crataegus laevigata, standardised to 5% flavonoids), L-Taurine, Terminalia arjuna Bark Standardised Extract (standardised to 0.5% arjunolic acid), Salvia miltiorrhiza Root 5:1 Extract, Coenzyme Q10, Vegetable Cellulose (from hard shell capsule), Organic Rice Extract, Magnesium Citrate, Organic Rice Concentrate, Silica.
Dosage and Information
- 60 Vegetarian Capsules. Suggested Use: One (1) capsule two (2) to four (4) times per day with meals as a food supplement or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.
- The Genoma Cardia™ formula has been specifically designed to be suitable for individuals of all four ABO Blood Types (O, A, B and AB).
