Description
Nature's Sunshine® Vitamin D3 - For Bone and Teeth Health
Vitamin D is often referred to as "The Sunshine Vitamin". It is generally acquired by the body by exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays and from dietary intake. Therefore, supplementation is especially important during the colder, darker months of the year when we see very little sunshine.
- Vitamin D is an important vitamin for maintaining the good health of bones and teeth, and is required to help our bodies absorb calcium. Although we can get some from food, such as oily fish, eggs and meat, it difficult to get enough Vitamin D from food alone.
- Vitamin D has many roles. It helps in the development and maintenance of bones, muscle, and teeth, and the absorption and use of calcium and phosphorus. It also contributes to the normal function of the immune system and inflammation response.
- The two most important forms of Vitamin D for your health are Vitamin D2 and Vitamin D3. Vitamin D2 is produced by plants, and Vitamin D3 is made by your skin when you are exposed to sunlight. Fortified foods can contain either form. Studies show that Vitamin D3 is far more important for our health than Vitamin D2. Nature's Sunshine® Vitamin D3 contains 100mcg of Vitamin D3.
